The leather brand "blackmeans" began operations in the fall/winter season of 2008. From the perspective of Japanese Hardcore Punk, which is also the brand's roots, the concept is to create and propose fashion and styles that are not bound by preconceived notions, and rather than simply integrating all the elements that exist within themselves, such as punk, motorcycles, ethnicity, hardcore, and fashion, the brand pursues manufacturing that is conscious of the uniqueness of the Japanese people, the aggressiveness that comes from punk and hardcore, and the avant-garde nature of people living in the present.
